In recent years, technological advances have led to IP or SIP (session initiation protocol) PBXs with state-of-the-art unified communications solutions becoming more and more important.
While these improvements in communications are hugely beneficial for users, they do entail a whole host of risks too. For example, standard admin or system passwords, weak voicemail passwords, or poorly configured remote access all pose a risk of fraudsters easily hacking into telephone systems.
