The Cirpack session border controller (SBC) creates a demarcation point between two VoIP-based networks. It allows control of signalling and media streams. The Cirpack SBC offers the required security mechanisms for service providers, such as:

• Protection from fraudulent access
• Protection from fraudulent use of services (DoS/DDoS attacks)
• Hides network topologies

It also ensures call control and checks approved media streams.
